Why work with Mouthfull?

Why outsource production?

The old adage of ‘Jack of all trades, king of non’ is as true now as the day it was first uttered. Ultimately outsourcing production to a specialist manufacturer or Central Production Unit (CPUs) allows businesses to truly focus on the key fundamentals that sets them apart from the chasing pack whilst both gaining financially and ensuring consistency.

Focus on fundamentals

Outsourcing production enables food chains to focus on their core strength. For instance, the key focus for a burger chain to set itself apart would be to cook an excellent burger every time and exceptional customer service. By outsourcing the production of their buns to a bakery and their sauces to a sauce manufacturer, the Burger chain is keeping its operation simple and is able to focus on the necessities.

Consistency

Customers demand the same exact meal every time they reorder their favourite menu item. This challenge is hard enough when the same chef is trying to replicate a recipe during a busy Friday night service. The challenge is impossible when trying to ensure consistency across a rapidly expanding national chain.  This consistency is a CPUs key focus and is achieved by rigorous staff training, production controls, product testing and advanced manufacturing equipment.

Financial Stability

The biggest creator of cost in a business is complexity. A CPU can easily remove the hassle of making 20+ recipe SKUs from a single restaurant chain. These 20 different recipes can result in well over 100 different ingredients to manage. And this is before you begin to factor in the personnel and equipment required to produce these recipes. By outsourcing this production to CPUs you gain from their scales of economy through bulk purchasing and manufacturing to ultimately end up with a cheaper product before you begin to factor in the costs saved internally.
